ILAP Analytics controls access through three Entra ID application roles — Readers, Writer, and Administrators — assigned on the API app registration. This page explains what each role can do and how to assign it to a user or group. It is written for the IT administrator who manages access to an ILAP Analytics installation.
In the document related to application registration, we touched down a bit related to Application roles. The application roles in the Ilap Analytics are
| Display Name | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Readers | DataReader | Can read ilap analytics data. Typically used by 3rd party application like PowerBI |
| Writer | DataWriter | Can read and publish ilap analytics data and maintain same. Typically used by users that publish files to Ilap analytics |
| Administrators | Administrator | Can modify configuration of Ilap analytics as well as reading and publishing data to ilap analytics. For example an user can create an access token only if it has the administrator permissions. |
How To assign permissions
- Go to the api app registration → user and groups
- Click "Add user/group"
- select which user/user group to add and click select.
- select which application role to assign for the selected user or user group.
- Verify your selection and click "Assign".
