Introduction

This article is about the core concepts of the ILAP Analytics software, and how to set it up. If you’re interested in what value ILAP Analytics can bring you as a planner, read ILAP Analytics explained. If you’re looking for more detailed explanations, check out the Using ILAP Analytics section.

Core concepts of ILAP Analytics

ILAP Analytics is built around Report schedules that enable user to track schedules over time, uncovering invaluable insights to improve scheduling. Before a Report schedule can be created, first Fields need to be set up. Once you have done this, a Schedule type can be created. You are now ready to create a Report schedule and start collecting schedules. This is done through posting of schedules to the Report schedule. Finally, data can be consumed from the Report schedule.

Setting up fields

Fields are the Data points you are going to track. There are two ways to set up fields, by importing from ILAP Data Exchange or by creating them from scratch. More about this in the article about creating fields.

Creating Schedule types

With the fields you have set up, you can create Schedule types. These are sets of data points that you want to track that can be reused for multiple Report schedules and enable data analysis across these Report schedules. More about this in the article about creating schedule types.

Creating Report schedules

Every report schedule has a Schedule type. Once you have created the Schedule type that you need, you can create a Report schedule, this is the start of the collection of schedules. More about this in the article about creating report schedules.

Posting schedules

With your Report schedule in place, you can start posting schedules to the Report schedule. This can be done through ILAP Exchange Agreements (IEAs) in ILAP Data Exchange (IDE), or through an API. More about this in the article about Posting schedules.

Maintaining report schedules

Once you have posted multiple schedules into the Report schedule, you can monitor the Report schedule to enable all sorts of data analysis and gain insights. More about this in the article about maintaining report schedules.

Data consumption

Now that you have collected your schedules over time, insights can be gained by consuming the data. More about this in the article about Data consumption.
